General Description

Anti-aliasing filter for use in digital video applications. Implements a 3x3 low-pass filter on the image pixels to remove high frequency artefacts such as jagged edges, stepped lines and Moiré interference patterns. Ideal for use with image sensors and before video downscaling to vastly improve image quality.

Applications

- Low-pass (anti-alias) filtering for digital video applications

- Reduction of jagged edges, stepped lines and Moiré interference patterns
- Forms an essential stage when downscaling and upscaling by large factors
  such as 4K video to HD/SD and vice versa
